We quarantee all our products in our Doc's Choice and Seafood Doctor brands. If there is ever an issue that would arise, we have you covered.
We take the time do it right. What we mean by this is we have done all the necessary tweaks and plant visits to insure our products are up to our strict specifications so our customers don't have to worry about our quality. We also force the issue to have all of our packaging be in full color. We feel that our packaging should complement the quality of product inside the bag and box.
We keep our customers informed and in the loop on what markets are currently doing and where we see them going.
We store our products in strategic shipping locations, so finding freight to ship product to our customers is not an issue. Also, leveraging major US ports allows us to offer cheaper prices to our customers for that very reason.
Our buyers work their magic everyday and have many years of experience. We buy our products right so we can sell them at competitive low prices to our customers.
Seafood Doctor, Inc. is a proud family-owned and operated business with deep roots in the seafood industry. Our journey began in the 1980s when our Chairman's father transitioned from the lumber trade to pursue a passion for fresh seafood. Starting with a humble refrigerated fifth wheel, they sold West Coast fish and steadily expanded into multiple locations, eventually growing into a distribution company. Years later, our Chairman stepped up to lead the business, only to discover significant financial challenges that proved insurmountable. Despite their best efforts, the company faced bankruptcy in 1997, marking the end of one chapter and setting the stage for a resilient comeback.
In 1998, determined to rebuild and move forward, our Chairman founded Seafood Doctor, Inc. With a renewed vision, he began brokering seafood from trusted companies he had worked with in the past while also sourcing sea scallops from suppliers on the East Coast. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to collaborate closely with the buyer of a major East Coast scallop company, which opened doors to international opportunities. Soon, he expanded his reach, traveling to Mexico and China to source high-quality scallops, laying the foundation for the company’s global presence.
Through numerous trips to China and participation in international seafood expos, our Chairman built valuable relationships with new suppliers, paving the way for Seafood Doctor, Inc. to import its own products under the Seafood Doctor® brand, and later under Doc's Choice®. As the business flourished, the company expanded its team to manage the growing workload and broaden its operations. Today, Seafood Doctor is a globally recognized company, sourcing, purchasing, and distributing seafood across Asia, Mexico, Canada, South America, and the USA. Our diverse product line now includes over 30 different species and four registered trademarks. We are committed to providing products that are true to size and ensuring the absolute best experience for our customers.
