Sierra Mackerel, also known as Pacific Sierra and Mexican Sierra, belongs to the Scombridae family that’s related to King, Atlantic (Boston), and Spanish Mackerel. It has a mild taste and strong flavor thanks to it’s oily content and omega-3 fats.
Cooking Methods
Some find it best to marinade the whole fish in herbs and garlic or teriyaki sauce and then broil it. The Fillets can be ground up and made into a fish patty.
